Which one do you guys think is better? college of william & mary or depuaw university?

Are you for real? W&M hands down.

definitely William and Mary.

William and Mary…not even close

W&M absolutely.

don’t jump at that too fast; in my experience, W&M’s got the academics thing down-pact, but as for a social life? or a life in general? Don’t make me laugh… that campus was as dead as my grandmother when I visited two months ago…During classes!

I had a creative writing teacher last year who went to W&M and I see him as a plus:

-He’s very smart (the most intelligent in my schools Eng. dept., hands down)
-He’s a cool guy to hang with…great storyteller
-He always told the class stories about his antics w/ his college buddies, many of whom he still keeps in touch with…it seems like W&M is full of fun people

William and Mary, hands down. The environment is great and its the second oldest school after Harvard, how can you beat that? Plus, it has a great alumni base from what I’ve heard.

“…that campus was as dead as my grandmother when I visited two months ago…During classes!”

Kegs weren’t flowing during classes? Damn! It sounds almost as “bad” as the University of Chicago.

yeah, it was even during the W&MMUN conference, while plenty of college kids were aroudn helping; but they looked bored, and the campus/town seemed empty, full of rtour guides nobody visited and OLD people, lol

Well, maybe W&M is much better. But Depauw is going to offer me nearly 10,000 scholarship.

So…

…go to William & Mary.

Hands down, by a mile, William and Mary. No question. Absolutely no question.

Does DePauw require a 3.0 to keep the award? The gpa needed to keep the award is something to consider. Are you instate or out of state for W&M? W&M is much more selective in admissions. Keep in mind that W&M meets around 85% of financial need (don’t know about OOS), and DePauw meets a higher % of need (only important if you will qualify for financial aid), but you need to look at how much of that is loan and w/s. Frankly I am surprised that if you have the stats to get into W&M that DePauw only offered 10k in merit aid. If you are instate and you were accepted to W&M, if you like the school, why not go there?

Just checked it out, DePauw meets 98-100% of need, but on average nearly 6200 of it is just loans and w/s (a bit less for freshmen).
