W on Graduate Level Course Abroad

I am a Religious Studies Major. I’m currently a junior undergrad studying abroad in Israel for spring semester. I decided to opt for a course that was a grad school religious studies course. So, the professor wants me to withdraw with only three weeks left of class. (She said even though it’s past deadline, she will fight to make it happen if need be, because she really doesn’t want me to get an F.) I really tried hard, but the professor really thinks that the main issue is that it is because this is an MA class (hence the other students have more background), and she regrets allowing me to come so far in the course…

So, how bad is it that this is a W in my own field? How bad is it that it was a grad school course with three weeks left to spare? How bad is it that this was during an abroad experience?

What will this do for transcript and how might I boost my chances for grad school?
