I currently have a low B in my bio class. Should I drop and take the W knowing I may not be able to raise it to an A? This is a core class for my major so an A is imperative.
Are you in university? What year are you in? What is your major?
For the vast majority of students, including students who have never had anything other than an A prior to university, there are going to be some B’s in university. You are doing very well if you have mostly A’s and don’t get any C’s or lower.
Work hard. Keep ahead in your homework and reading. Take your B or B- and move on.
Even if this is one of your core classes, as long as you are pulling an A or a B you will be fine. Make sure that you keep working hard in the class, try to raise the B a little higher than a B- to be safe and try to make sure that you get A’s in your other classes.
