This man may not think he’s a hero but he is.
How many others could react so well? And do we have more examples of everyday hero’s?

His face, not the shooter’s, should be all over the Internet and news websites!
Agree, but the shooter is still on the loose, so it is important to post his mug shot so folks can recognize him.
A honorable man. Maybe someone will remember this when a 14 year old comes to their door asking for directions or someone wants to meet someone in Starbucks
I hope he is mostly left alone, as he said he wants to be. We tend to be overwhelming to our heroes.
I hope he is not harassed, but if he desires an opportunity somewhere, that he gets it. When people step up like that, at great risk to themselves, I truly hope they are rewarded in some way. So many terrible things could be stopped if there were people willing to do these things to protect others. But it’s so hard to have the presence of mind to take action quickly.
I was involved in a situation when I was 13 years old, where I saved three children from a fire. But I didn’t want any publicity and was uncomfortable with being deemed a “hero”, as it was a no brainer, right time, right place, of course I did it. I totally understand why he might be reticent about publicity.
Shaw was on the Today show this morning. I don’t know what he does for a living, but he is the type of,person that would make a good employee.
He was very humble during his presser. I hope he is rewarded in some way. My heart goes out to the families of the victims, I’m hardly seeing any coverage of the actual victims.
@stradmom amen
It’s hard to believe that a deranged, half dressed man was not caught almost immediately.
Apparently, he has mental problems and has been in trouble before. At one point, police confiscated his guns because of his delusional behavior, but later gave them to his father, who returned them all to the suspect.

Makes you think he’s getting helped by someone, to still not have been found.
I hope his father is charged with accessory to murder.
One of my friends plays basketball with Shaw. He’s a great guy. Single Dad and an electrician (like his father). Our Mayor went to church with him after the incident.
Do you mean the shooting/attack, or some other “incident”?
He handled himself exceptionally well in his presser.
The town’s mayor is calling for a ban on AR15 sales (on account civilians have no business owning weapons meant for war AND the fact deranged individuals all seem to favor it) and on justifying your purchase (you shouldn’t be able to impulse buy a gun just cause you want it - if you need it to hunt, protect your property, you justify it.)
Still can’t get over the fact he rushed a man with an AR15 shooting at people and wrestled it from him with his bare hands.
I believe him when he said he didn’t think, he just “knew what to do” and felt “9 out of 10 times it’s have ended differently”.
Whattaguy! A good man with a firm constitution.
He started a gofundme page for the victims.

He works for AT&T doing electrical line work. I hope they reward him. Also he said in one interview that he wants some professional mental health service to deal with everything. It would be great If AT&T could assist him in finding and paying for what he needs. Seems like just an outstanding guy!
Suspect has been arrested:

I cannot believe they gave that murderer a 2 million dollar bond. Wth???
As I read about the suspect, the Sandy Hook school shooter comes to mind. Another disturbed person whose parent believed that there was nothing wrong about providing guns to their clearly mentally disturbed young adult son. As with Adam Lanza, it looks like there were SEVERAL red flags regarding potential violence from Travis Reinking.
