Waffle Maker

My little Oster waffle maker of probably 20+ years is kaput. It barely warmed to get the batter to form a waffle but they remained pale and floppy this morning.

Amazon Prime days are next week and of course just lots of holiday sales though I don’t want to wait too long.

Have a waffle maker you love? I’ll be looking for one that doesn’t take too much space, would love it to be a “deep” Belgium waffle maker and don’t need it to make 4 at a time.

:waffle: :hot_beverage: :bacon:

I won’t be home until tonight, but I’ll look when I get home. I have an inexpensive flipover unit that has lasted forever. My S likes it so much he asked the same unit as a Christmas present when he moved out. I don’t know if they still make it, but I’ll check & post later.

I’ve had a Cuisinart flip over Belgian waffle maker for maybe 10 years. Pretty basic but I like it. I used it more when my kids lived here but now I pull it out on holidays or occasionally will make a batch and freeze them to reheat in the toaster oven. I see Cuisinart also makes a double version now to cook two at once.

This is the one I got 4 years ago after my Oster died. It’s basic but does a good job. What I like most about it is that the waffles cook in 1:15-1:30. my old one took closer to 3:00. That way I don’t have to reheat the stack waiting for the others to cook what I dislike most is cleaning it not sure if any others would be better, but I find it awkward. I probably average using it 2xmonth - usually Friday night for dinner

We love our Cuisinart flip over. This one is very similar to what we have (we’ve had ours for over 15 years so it is not exact match, lol)

A Cuisanart!

I just tried to check the brand I have but all I can tell is that it was made by Vitantonio. It was an early Williams and Sonoma purchase (which means it was expensive for me at the time) and I’ve had it 30 years.

ETA this brought back memories for me. One of my sons LOVED Belgian waffles, and the others was more of a pancake guy. We had to alternate each weekend.

That’s often what I do. Savory on Saturday breakfast and then Sunday is often a rotation of pancakes or waffles! With various toppings beyond butter and syrup! Today’s waffles were butter, maple syrup, almonds, pecans, homemade bacon bits, blueberries and dried cherries.

If you lived close to me I would drop this by your front door. We’re more into the Dash waffle makers (lots of fun designs), but this one made quite the nice waffle when I tried it. Mail it to you?

Now that’s a bargain.

lol that’s the one I have that died or close to it - the $20 version probably still today! I think I’ll take advantage of the :headstone: to try something different! But thanks for speaking up! (Do you not like/do waffles??)

Editing to say I see you like the dash waffle makers

Yes, waffles are a big thing in my family. We use a time tested yeast based dough that is wonderful fresh, and freezes fabulously!

I hope you find another model that serves you as well, and as long!

We used an All Clad for years, but my husband loves his new Green Pan because you can take the plates out to clean them.

The waffle maker I swear by is the Presto Flipside Belgian Waffle Maker. It’s gotten pretty expensive, but I suppose other waffle makers have, as well. It’s at Kohl’s, so maybe it could be picked up on sale (and maybe even with extra savings if the manufacturer doesn’t prohibit it).

I am not a waffle/pancake person, but H likes waffles for breakfast occasionally. I bought him a $10 Dash waffle maker at Nordstrom Rack and he is very happy with it.

I need more than a dash even for two of us but sometimes I’m making for more people - but know that people (and kids!) love the Dash product.

Quality of the waffle is important to me too. Much of the quality comes from ingredients of course, but one “ingredient” is the size and crispness of the waffle!
