Wait & Get Pin First - or fill out now?

<p>I have a question… Would it take longer to sign up for a pin today, wait for it to come in then fill out FAFSA… or just fill out FAFSA now, print and hand sign it?</p>

The application process is faster if you use your PIN to sign your application electronically. If you have a valid e-mail address, you should consider applying for your PIN, as it will speed up your application process. Both students and parents of dependent students who have not previously applied for a PIN are able to apply for a PIN within the FAFSA application. It takes 1-3 days to get a PIN electronically as opposed to the 7-10 days it would take a signature page to be received and processed through the mail.

<p>We got out pins within 2 days of signing up for them so i would say it is probably quicker to apply for your pin, get all your info sorted out on the worksheets then do it online. Can you fill the online form in then go back and put your pin? It is my first time and we have a pin but maybe someone out there can answer that.</p>

<p>Yea, I’m going to wait for my PIN also, THEN fill out the FAFSA and send it in.
I don’t think you can fill out before you enter your PIN because it asks for your PIN before you start it.</p>
