<p>Has anyone ever been asked to send a deposit to reserve a place on the wait list? (I’m not asking about the May 1 deposit to enroll at a school that has accepted you; that one’s a given!) Thanks.</p>
<p>You should never have to pay for a place on a wait list.</p>
<p>I want to say my friend’s CMU waitlist letter asked him to send a deposit if he took a place on the WL, but I may be wrong.</p>
