My son applied ED to Columbia and was deferred. He did get an interview with an alumni last week. I have read post on this board about people sending a supplement who were on a wait list. He does have more to tell about himself and wants to let Columbia know why he feels that is the school for him. Should he send in the supplement with a CD of his Art work and write a why Columbia essay, Any advise is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Clueless Dad

I guess this was a dumb question or something because no one has bothered to reply. Its Funny how folks will type two or three pages of post arguing over what Ivy league school is best but to actually help someone who is asking for advise well…

They are similar but not the same. When you are deferred your application will be reviewed again for RD and your possible outcomes are Accept, Deny or Waitlist. Waitlist is a status for RD applicants. You may choose to stay on the Waitlist or not. Some schools will go to their Waitlist and some will not. Most schools will take some deferred students. Early Action schools may take a lot of deferred students while Early Decision schools usually take less. Hope this helps.

Thank You Kayakct! That does help.
