Is there any etiquette the schools follow concerning their wait-list? Is there a point when the school informs the perspective student that they are no longer considered? Or are they left hoping until the Fall?

Most schools don’t let people know if they are NOT taken off the wait list, but sometimes once the wait list is closed and the class is truly filled, they may let people know. Keep in mind that most wait list movement takes place in May, though it can always trickle after that if someone backs out later on. The odds after the end of May go way down though. You can always call in late May and ask if their process is complete and they have filled the class. If your kid is on a wait list, he/she should make sure to make their interest known to the wait list school(s) if still very interested in attending.

Thank you for your help. This is a very stressful process. It helps so much to have information. This forum is very helpful due to people like you!
