I was waitlisted for UNC RD and i was wondering if anyone accepted after being waitlisted has any advice. I know the chances are slim, but i just want some piece of mind. I’m going to graduate with all A’s for senior year in 4 AP’s (calc AB, AP BIO, AP COGO, and AP LIT) and 4 honors classes. They don’t look at other achievements but do you think my grades are strong enough to be accepted?
My son was accepted after being waitlisted last year. He chose to go to NC State. His reasoning was, having looked at his application twice (he’d been deferred EA), UNC was not sure he would succeed there. He loves State, is maintaining an A+ GPA, has already been confirmed to both his majors, started working in a research lab with a Professor, and will be an Honors Fellow next year! Don’t look for closure- acceptance after being waitlisted at UNC is completely random. Get excited about your other options!
I thought they said they would review final grades and would make decisions based off of that and our original application. From what i see on their website is that it isn’t random. I was accepted into state too but UNC has been my #1 choice ever since 4th grade and 3 of my siblings have attended since then. If you don’t mind, what grades did your son get senior year and what classes were they?
