Waitlist "Deadline"?

I have all my waitlist letters finished and ready to go, but I also have a competition tonight that could result in another thing to add to them–think I’m okay waiting until tomorrow to mail rather than mailing them out tonight? I didn’t think it’d be that huge of a difference, but wasn’t sure. When, exactly, do colleges want these letters by? My GC said as long as they have it by May 1 I’m all set, but do they also keep a record of when it came in? I know its too late, but I hope I don’t look less interested in the schools because I waited as long as I did (which, mainly, has had to do with paranoia in making sure they’re perfect before they go out).

Any comments would be appreciated. I’m also wondering whether I should also email copies of the letters in addition to mailing them in–but then with that, they definitely know that it’s coming in at the end of the month rather than earlier.

As long as you have it delivered by May 01-you are set to go. Files won’t be reviewed until after that date. Good Luck—and enjoy the rest of your senior year-you deserve it!!!
