If 162 students are on the waitlist with 168 limit, the class has 295 seats and I am number 83 on the waitlist, what are my chances of getting into the class?

you might be o.k., that’s pretty close to the borderline though. last year I was around 70 during my phase 2, and it slowly dropped over time during the open hours, and when school started I was around 25 and I got in after the first week. Prof Spreyer works pretty hard to let people in, and his GSIs last year were pretty chill about letting people go to different sections than what they were officially enrolled in. just keep an eye on your waitlist number and plan for an alternative class if you need more units. if you’re 50+ when school starts you should ask Prof Spreyer how it’s looking, and then switch if he says not good.
