I am currently the 1st person on the waitlist of 1 section of Bio106S, and 2 sections of Math141. Should I expect to get into these classes? Or should I make my schedule as if I did not have them?

Thanks for the answers and advice.

1 MORE QUESTION THOUGH.

If my college doesnt offer UNIV101 classes at a time that fits my schedule, can I email professors from the class times I want, and ask them to allow me into their section?

Thanks again

Yes… Maybe not for the scholars section, but definitely into math and very likely into bsci106s.

And definitely email the univ101 professors; if you’re polite and they’re nice, you should be fine.

A word of caution: allow up to a week from when classes begin to get into those sections… You will, but it may take a couple classes people to drop. Still go to the classes though so you don’t fall behind when you inevitably get in.

Good luck and welcome to UMD!

Thank you very much for the quick reply! I also heard from a friend in college that if you talk to the professors (and you really need it) they might increase the class size by 1, just for you. Hopefully I don’t need to explore this option though!

No problem… Math classes, especially weed out ones like 141, will have plenty of drops… 106s may make room for you if you end up needing it, too, especially if you’re in life sciences scholars
