Waitlist SIR deadlines and deferrals for UDUB

<p>Just two quick questions:</p>

<p>I just got off the waitlist yesterday by email notification and have no actually recieved the acceptance packet for U Washington. As we all know, the regular SIR deadline is this Friday, May 1st. I was wondering if anyone knew when the deadline for waitlisted students (who were accepted) to accept UDub’s offer was. </p>

<p>Another quick question: Before I got into UDub, I was making plans to take a year off. I got accepted by an internship in New York City and one in Kansas City. Does UDub let it students defer acceptances? (I would think not, because UCSD told me that most state schools don’t, but i thought there would be no harm in just checking)</p>

<p>i think for waitlist students you are just supposed to say yes or no pretty quickly, like within a few days is what i have heard. and no they specifically say they do not defer admissions.</p>

<p>I called them today, and no, you do not have to reply by May 1st. You have your own seperate deadline.</p>

<p>Time may be of the essence, so rather than waiting for the information on a message board, it might be smart to call the admissions office first thing tomorrow morning.</p>

<p>The Welcome pack states that students CANNOT defer their acceptance, and must reapply should they wish to not accept their place.</p>

<p>It would say in your Welcome Packet, but since I haven’t recieved mine yet, I have no clue! Sorry, haha.</p>
