Waitlist success stories

Does anyone know if Carleton or UChicago has gone to their waitlists? The letter from Carleton said sometime after may 5th . . . which is pretty vague. I’ve gotten conflicting messages from Carleton about their waitlist. In one leter they said they’re call, in another they said they’re send a letter. Does anyone know someone who has gotten off their waitlist before?

amherst college’s waitlist is active! i just got accepted this afternoon!

Supposedly Chicago’s going to the waitlist a bit later.

if anybody hears from BU please let me know! still waittingggg…

Stanford - is sending out emails. I just heard from them (it was a “no”)

well i have asked ppl to join this facebook group for waitlistees but i guess most didnt see it. so here we go again: [Login | Facebook](<a href=“Facebook Public Group | Facebook”>Facebook Public Group | Facebook)

^^ “No” as in “we are not using waitlist”
or
“No” as in “we cannot accept you”?

It was “no, we can’t offer you a place…” It didn’t say they aren’t going to use the waitlist. Good luck to those still waiting…

Sorry to hear that. I hope you are already enrolled at a school you like :)

(I didn’t know they are sending out "no"s, I thought it was either you hear from them if you’re accepted or you never hear back if you’re not.)

Did anyone hear about W&M using their waitlist this year? and UVA?
Or do you guys have any ideas on whether they will go to their waitlists? I’m so nervous…I’m instate and got waitlisted by both (I expected to go to one or the other)
I don’t know if its just because this process is new to me but it seems that this year especially the people who are getting waitlisted seem to be getting the waitlist letters in bulk (not just from one or two…)

my friend who got off the BU waitlist is not international. I’m not sure how BU notified her (she’s in NY) but when I do i’ll post

I called Yale a few days ago and an admissions officer confirmed that “there is some room for a few waitlist students”, so I assume Yale is active.

Stanford’s class is full.

Dear xxxxxx

I am writing to update you regarding your status on our waitlist; although our freshman class is currently full, we have continued to hold you on an extended waitlist. Because we expect some of our peer institutions to make offers of admission from their waitlists, the slight possibility still exists that space may become available at Stanford for this fall.

We have already notified a large majority of those on the waitlist that we will not be able to offer them admission, however the small number who remain on the extended waitlist represent those most likely to be considered for admission should space become available. I appreciate your patience during this time and ask that you remain patient just a little while longer. We expect to have another update for you no later than June 15th.

It is not necessary for you to do anything to remain on the extended waitlist, however if you no longer wish to be considered for admission to Stanford please email credentials@stanford.edu and simply ask to be removed from consideration.

Best regards,
Richard H. Shaw
Dean of Admission and Financial Aid

I’m not surprised with that at all. Seems like Stanford’s popularity has skyrocketed in the last 5 years.

peachjelly

yeah that would be great if you could let me know and also if they’re going or not…im soo bummed out! i was hoping that they just didnt get to the ny area yet or something.

anyone hear anything from UNC? If anyone did please state if that student was IS or OOS.

when do colleges usually call to notify you if you get off? i mean like time of day. i have school and baseball until about 7 every night, so would i miss the call?

They’ll try to get in contact with you whether it be through calling, voice message, or email.

if anybody gets off the BU waitlist/ knows somebody that has let me know! i want to know where i am at with this whole waitlist ordeal.

is Northwestern definitely active? i think that there have only been 2nd hand accounts so far…
