Waitlist success stories

Does anyone know how Princeton’s yield was? It seemed as if a lot of students were turning down both Harvard and Princeton for Yale this year.

No one knows, but both yale and H are officially resorting to the WL. H is taking 150-175, Yale is taking around 50. I think the real winner was actually Stanford, who I believe isn’t taking anyone this year.

Does anybody know how many WashU is taking? What about Duke?

Harvard is taking 150-175??? where did you find that info?

soo cornell and upenn both probably aren’t likely to take people… unless they lose people to other waitlists, right? surely they’d know by now how big their class is, considering all these other schools have already figured it out.

harvard 150-175?!>??? I think there will be an interesting trickle down affect

Where did that number come from?! I thought Harvard didn’t even confirm yet that they’re even using the waitlist

UVA Dean J just posted on the Notes From Peabody II: THe UVA Application

It’s been four days…
By the end of the week, we’ll probably be able to say that all the mail postmarked on May 1st has arrived and we’ll have a final count of deposits. I hope to have an update for all of you by Friday night.

From todays Yale Daily News at: [Yale Daily News - Defying predictions, yield holds strong at 69 percent](http://www.yaledailynews.com/articles/view/24776)

"The admissions office will begin making waitlist offers this week, Brenzel said. In the first round, the office plans to make about 45 offers, with further rounds contingent on how many waitlisted students accept the offer, and on how other schools’ wait list offers affect students who have already committed to attending Yale.

All waitlist activity should be complete by mid-June, Brenzel said."

The only good idea that the old gipper ever brought to the public eye is trickle down!! and that is what is going to happen this may and june

Why is everyone saying Stanford isn’t taking anyone? I know the extended waitlist is a long shot, but it certainly means that they anticipate that there might be some room left for the fall.

Being prepared for the possibility and anticipating are different things. We’re just saying that at the moment, Stanford has no room.

I think that Gtown has gone to their list or will

haverford is active. a close friend got a letter in the mail saying that they were.

I know somebody who got off Columbia’s wl today.

wow…seems like Harvard is taking around 150 kids. it is a good news for people on other school’s waitlist. hopefully my chance at Columbia can get better…haha!

Goldberg2.

Georgetown has already gone to the waitlist? or do you just think they will?

I think a friend of a friend got in, i dont know, she just annonced it on facebook. Good luck on georgetown, it was my first choice too. I think that most schools will have to, the economy, harvard and yale’s large dip into the pool among other things, gtown is definitely one of the schools that doesnt have the draw that harvard has, so i think it will

I got off the waitlist at Columbia today!! Miracles do happen!
