skygirl. I got off UNC’s waitlist and i sent a letter showing my interest and why UNC is a good fit for me and why I am a good fit for them. I also submitted by 3rd quarter and half of 4th quarter grades. I also visited UNC since it is really close to me. I believe my interest helped me overall.

I was accepted off the waitlist at Brandeis. I sent them a letter telling them why I wanted to go, a program from the opera I was singing, and a news paper clipping about me.

Moved Middlebury from inactive to active based on Midd forum posts. Also added Georgetown and Cornell based on previous posts.

Someone on the Oberlin thread posted that a friend of theirs got in off the waitlist yesterday.

I got off the waitlist from UPenn yesterday. Good luck to everyone!

Unless I am being completely bamboozled, my telephone conversation with a Northwestern Adcom convinces me that they are active but not currently offering admission. So here’s the straight ****. I called the office and slightly harangued them, and this much is true. They are taking people off the waitlist. (Shocker) When I asked them what sort of numbers we were talking about (this guy was british, so don’t be confused), he said “they were going to be accepting quite a large (number, percentage, amount, I can’t remember the exact wording) of our waitlisted applicants”. So who knows what that means, but hearing positivity from an Adcom or secretary is pretty rare. He also divulged that the earliest responses would be in a few weeks. I know that people have already been replied to, but they seem like people that the adcoms "tuft syndrome"d and whom they really want now. So… I’m inclined to believe him, no? I’m thinking two weeks. By the end of May for the bulk of people they’re planning to remove from the list, and that sounds substantial. They must have really screwed up yield.

Took UChicago off the active list based on the Uncommon Blog
