Waitlist success stories

Anyone accepted to UNC-CH from OOS?

Omg! wow that awesome!
If you don’t mind me asking, did you send any extra stuff in to Upenn?

did anybody notice that Penn is on there twice (once as Penn and once as the University of Pennsylvania)

i believe Penn means Pennsylvania State University (Penn State)

What happens if a school over-enrolls?

One thing they can do is say “thanks, but no thanks” to the people that didn’t get their “Yes” cards in(or postmarked, depending) by May 1st. Other than that they’ll just delegate more space if possible or cram people in as much as possible.

yale is active. actually they could have already done ALL 45 calls this week.

my friend just found out he got into northwestern. He said his mom checked the site(not sure what this means) and it said he got it! He applied for engineering btw

for northwestern: so i just checked online on the same site that we used to get our decision in march(i was waitlisted) and when i put my id code and email address in, a new page saying congratulations you have just been admitted showed up. do you guys think i just got off the waitlist and it wasnt a mistake?

@seansk - most probably you got in. Sometimes the call/email may lag the database update. Most of the schools have different people updating their systems versus people making the call. Congrats and keep your fingers crossed!

seansk did you apply for engineering too?

Two of S’s friends accepted off of waitlist to University of Richmond

I just got a call from UNC last Thursday accepting me off the waitlist, and my friend got a call from them the day after. We’re both OOS students for UNC. I’m not going to attend UNC, but my friend might…

In fact, UNC just released a website update about their waiting list:

The link can be found by clicking here: [UNC Undergraduate Admissions](http://admissions.unc.edu/applying/special_message.html)

Good luck!

Has anyone heard anything from Wake Forest? like how many they are planning to accept, or how many are on the waitlist or has anyone been accepted?

Also, I was waitlisted to UNC-CH but didnt get the call. depending on how many accept the offer made last week on may 23rd, will they do a second round? I’m an OSS so I know its tougher for me to get in there.

Soulmates, I sent them a letter of intent with my recent accomplishments, additional letter of recommendation from my club adviser, and my recent grades. And I prayed and I got accepted off the waitlist friday…
Good luck!!

mrchipmunk90 no im weinberg/econ and im domestic

Unconfirmed, but here’s the long-awaited news from Barnard:
“My counselor knows someone who used to work for Barnard, and she said that Barnard probably won’t be turning to the waitlist right now because they have something like fifty too many students who enrolled.” – straight from the Barnard page on CC

Hotasice, where did you accept?

My son is going to W&L, but might consider UNC if he clears the wait list.

A friend’s daughter got in Villanova from waitlist.
