yeah, i’m waitlisted at harvard. any hope this year? or at least anyone know how big the waitlist is?

There no way to know this until September when all the colleges will have acted on their waitlists.

"i heard it’s a tough year for waitlisted people. "

where did you hear this?

Deferred ED from wake forest and now waitlisted lol. wake is testing my patience. i probaly should move on?

Can someone please tell the steps to take to get off a waitlist successfully…

lots of ecs & great recs…

This is my situtation: Waitlisted at Emory, Boston College, and WashU(like every single other applicant)…I was rejected from the University of Texas, Northwestern, Duke, Rice, Cornell, Vanderbilt…my only acceptance is a local state school. I have taken my self off the Financial Aid list, because my parents are willing to pay full cost of attending.

I am willing to do whatever it takes to get into Boston College, WashU, and Emory…Please someone help me and give me advice…Feel free to pm me or post on my thread

Any help is greatly appreciated because my situation is really bad, (don’t want to go to state school)

I’m waitlisted at Northwestern and I’m pretty actively pursuing it, I guess. I’m full pay, hope that helps me, ahha.

^ go to Oxford-Emory it’s better than the state schools!

^^^ idk, I applied after I was waitlisted at Emory College, so I don’t know if I can get into Oxford.

What is the likelihood of getting off the Georgetown waitlist this year?

my sister got off the waitlist at georgetown and duke… she just kept updating her profile to show interest

^^What profile?

galaxy:

That happened this year, already? Or in a previous year?

Waitlisted at Emory… but accepted at Emory: Oxford College…
What are the chances getting accepted off of the waitlist for Emory? (I don’t think there’s much hope for Wash U waitlist… but I don’t know what to think about Emory… any hope?)

^ My friend got off the waitlist from Emory last year - he just kept BOMBARDING them with new material lol… i.e. new grades, new supplemental recs…

I think many kids came off waitlists last year because it was the first year for EA v ED and colleges couldnt estimate right – that problem I do not see happening this year. What I do see is for all but the really really need bline and full need met schools, money will be an issue. So kids will be turning down spots more than last year.

I know that Stanford didn’t accept anyone from their waitlist last year. They accepted fewer people for admission this year because “too many” people decided to attend last year, and their class was bigger than they wanted. Who knows what will happen this year.

I got waitlisted at Barnard and Claremont Mckenna. Unfortunately, I am an international student (although I live here in the US and have been educated here as long too) needing aid…

Does anyone know the usual size of their waitlists and how many they take off of them?

Also, I’m planning on sending them new recommendations and an updated transcript. Anything else anyone recommends?

I’m waitlisted from Hopkins. Do you have to send in updated grades past the mid-year report? My grades dropped a bit last quarter, but I’m going to bring them back up this quarter… but if I send in the grades now, they won’t be able to see that I’m going to bring them back up…

I’ve had all As throughout high school… I may end up with 2 Bs in classes this semester… is it worth begging my teacher for extra credit and writing 10 more essays just to get an A?

Accepted at Madison and Wake Forest, but Wake is asking us to pay $30K out of pocket each year so I don’t think I’m going to go there.

Waitlisted at Brown, Penn, Northwestern, Notre Dame, Vanderbilt.

I want Brown SOOOO bad!
