Waitlist success stories

Student got accepted off Elon waitlist last night. Rcvd phone call at home. Has 48 hours to decide.

Daughter got off waitlist at Bard. Has until May 7 to decide.

Also I thought this might be helpful - there is NO money for WL students, at least not at PC and I have a feeling it’s the same elsewhere.

If you got off the WL you might want to report if they offered any money. I hate to say it but I think the only people who are going to be able to attend are those willing and able to pay the full ride.

Different colleges handle WL and financial aid differently. My son is WL at a school that says WL kids get the same financial aid consideration if accepted as everyone else.

From what I have been told, schools differ with respect to the FA available for those coming off the wait list. I know that Bard is working on the package as we speak. I will know more later today.

OK, I can confirm that the FA off the waitlist is the same/better than RD for my daughter. Choice will be very tough.

Okay then, I’m glad they’re offering FA to WL students, they should. It’s not like everyone they offered money to is going to go…anyway, is this what I think it is?

S was WL at TWO schools, and he had all but given up hope at Loyola Maryland, they WL so many students. This was sent at 5:00 but S just read his email…do you think they’re offering him a spot off the WL? No one will be in the office until tomorrow am.

If so, he is going to have to make a very tough decision very quickly!

"Hello Xxxxxx,

I would like to speak with you regarding your application to Loyola University Maryland. Please give me a call at your earliest convenience, 410-617-2735.

Sincerely,

Friend’s child on WL at Franklin & Marshall offered a spot yesterday.

Yep, S was accepted off the WL at Loyola Maryland as well.

Off two WL within 24 hours…and only 16 hours left to choose.

Wow, that’s exciting. Keep us posted on your decision.

Congrats, Momtravels! What a great way to start his weekend!

Has anyone heard anything from Vassar yet?

Does anyone have any information on Bucknell waitlist?

Someone just posted in http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/parents-forum/920453-list-schools-going-their-waitlist.html</a> that Bucknell is starting to take people off.

Can confirm that Bucknell has gone to the waitlist. Friend’s daughter was offered a spot last week (Thursday or Friday, I think).

Friend’s son was also offered a spot from the Bucknell waitlist last week.

S chose Loyola…we’re still processing this, I really thought PC was number 1.

We went for a second look(to PC) on Friday and he went with Loyola! He said it was too religious and that he didn’t mind Western Civ for 2 years, it was the fact that they have the class EVERY DAY for 2 years.

does anybody know if wustl is going to the wl

i was on the waitlist for UCI and UCSD for about a month and i heard back with acceptance from both!

please look at my thread everyone!

I’m waitlisted at Wesleyan and still really hopeful, but already deposited to Oberlin and am happy about going there as well. Is anyone else finding it really hard to be super enthusiastic about going to the school you deposited at, when the idea of MAYBE getting off the waitlist is still nagging in the back of your mind? It sucks…everyone else is so excited now that it’s post-May 1 and they decided where they are going. I’m excited about my school too obviously but the waitlist…it’s still…just there…waiting…RAWR!
