Waitlist success stories

^ I feel the same way! :expressionless: Most people at my school have bought their college merchandise already… but I don’t want to buy a sweatshirt and wind up not attending that school. I keep checking the phone whenever it rings to see if Smith is calling, it’s really pathetic.

Any other news?

princeton’s waitlist started yesterday. stanford’s supposed to start tomorrow.

Any news from NYU’s waitlist??

Anyone hear back from Loyola (LA) or U of San Francisco???

S just got in to Wesleyan off of the WL.

S has two classmates that got off UVA’s waitlist in the past two days. One for engineering, one for college of arts and science. We are instate.

Reed waitlist is sending letters in the next nine days. They are only offering spots for people paying 100%, there are no financial aid spots. (I called yesterday before I was going to do Cal housing stuff)

S just got into UCSB from the waitlist

My friend got off the Harvard waitlist last year. He ended up not going though. He liked Stanford better, but he said that it definitely made him rethink going to S. Nice problem to have LOL :)

Raelah,

“Is anyone else finding it really hard to be super enthusiastic about going to the school you deposited at, when the idea of MAYBE getting off the waitlist is still nagging in the back of your mind? It sucks…everyone else is so excited now that it’s post-May 1 and they decided where they are going. I’m excited about my school too obviously but the waitlist…it’s still…just there…waiting…RAWR!”

I feel you. It sucks… Because I haven’t heard back from my school and I keep thinking that I still have a chance but that is what is keeping me from really going ahead and start being excited about the school I deposited too! Of course, if my waitlist school admits me I would still go 100% but it’s just… I wish I knew earlier so I can start getting more excited and have my other school grow on me you know? :frowning: I hate this game of waiting… I hate seeing people update their networks to something something ‘14 on Facebook or simply just talking about it! Like they are so certain whereas I’m still … not! Or that I AM certain but I keep thinking that I still have that tiny chance to change something… :’(

^

Hey you guys shouldn’t complain…

For me its either off the waitlist or a gap year. :(

I’m waitlisted at Columbia. Do they email you decisions or do you have to just check the notification page again?

Well I got off the waitlist for Brandeis yesterday, hopefully more news comes out this week …

shorty…just curious…what do you mean “it’s either off the waitlist or a gap year…?” Did you not get accepted at a safety? (I don’t mean to be nosy, just interested.) D is currently on 5 waitlists right now. Raelah and emh1208, I can SO empathize with the two of you right now. She wants to move ahead and yet, she wonders IF she’ll get a call and WHEN. It truly bites, huh? Her graduation is in two weeks, and if she’s not called this week, the school she’s deposited at will be the one printed in the program. (Not that it’s a big deal but still.) She’s now starting to get a bit excited about her current school, though, and has said if two specific schools (of the five) call, she’ll most likely decline despite the fact that they’re ivys. It’ll be interesting to see what, if anything, finally happens. Good luck!

^

Yeah no safeties… I’m an international needing FA

Feels this needs a bump.

I actually was in that same exact position, everyone was happy and knew where they were going by the end of April, and I still couldn’t tell where I was going at scholarship interviews. It’s great knowing where I’m going, even though it’s not what I planned. Can’t wait to join all the clubs, and to perform on a new stage…so exciting.

D got into both Harvard and Brown today. Still waiting on her first choice. Opens a spot a Vassar.

^Did harvard start calling people already? Congrats to your daughter!
