I’m the second on the waitlist for 21-259. What is my chance of getting off it? Should I wait to get off it or just go ahead and register for another course?

You should be good. There will be people who drop out of 3-D calc. Even if you don’t get off the wait list, go to the lecture for a couple of weeks until people /do/ drop.

You’ll get in, don’t even sweat it.

Thank you so much! I just got in it
I also got waitlisted for 15-112… So what are my chances? Should I register another backup course just in case?

15-112 varies. How far are you down on the waitlist, and what major are you?

I’m at 10/11, I’m undecided for my major but I’m in hss

15-112 has a lot of attrition. You should be able to make it in.

Email the professor and explain your interest. Right now, actually. (I emailed a prof for a class I wanted to take over the summer and the waitlist wasn’t an issue for me.) Show up for the first day…people will drop, and if the professor remembers you as an interested student you’ll be in.

That isn’t a huge waitlist, in any case.
