@ bookworm522 hey remember me? just go into your fasfa account to add the colleges. if you need step by step instruction, just private message me >< i think im going to mesa community college near la jolla :D

@bookworm wait change what? The fafsa? If it’s the fafsa just go to add school (what andrew69 said lol…). I forgot bookworm, but you are doing CC as well right?

I agree with jesuis. That is kinda harsh. Did you think I want to attend CC lovecolleges? Dude I took so many aps and studied so hard. I always pull all nighters. I seriously don’t think I slacked off in high school. I may not of gotten a 4.0, but I did pull off a 3.83. I mean lovecolleges if you want to diss me that’s fine, but I hope you don’t offend others that are going the same route as me because we can equally have bright futures in two years.

Also some people go the CC route because its cheaper for them and they don’t find getting that huge loans necessary. There are many factors that may cause students to go to CC and you shouldn’t make a statement like people go there because they slack off. You don’t know the person or anything about them…I really find it strange why people make negative comments to others because of the college they go to…It should also be taken in consideration that if you are a person who goes by ranking the person going to CC can end up graduating with a BS from a school ranked higher than you and no one is going to question the person if they went to CC or not. If you got into a four year college congratulations and hope you do well and if you didn’t there is a very high chance to transfer into one. There is no need to put people down…

Thanks guys. and yeah community for me, i might just go to my local community college, apparently its not very good but its close and has TAG so yeah… and also about the statement made about slacking=community i completely agree with what you guys have said. I worked VERY hard. i got a 4.33, and took a bunch of AP’s. I also know people who had family troubles happen to them, and i am personally someone who definitely does not live in a very wealthy family, so yeah, don’t assume someone in community college is there just because they didn’t work hard in HS.

I’ve decided to SDSU and work my butt off for grad school so I can move away, haha. I guess I won’t be seeing you guys in Davis in 2 years but I wish you the best of luck and I know you’ll have an awesome experience. I agree with bookworm, going to CC doesn’t make you a slacker. You have to work with what you have according to the condition (economic crisis that partially screwed me up), that’s life. I also had a GPA of 4.3 and was involved to a whole bunch of stuff but apparently, these things aren’t good enough to get into a UC. I hope we will all be here once again to freak out together for grad school. Wish you the best of luck!!

i don’t know if you all are forgetting that merced is a referral campus. this means that if you are a UC-eligible california resident and denied admission at each campus you applied to, then merced will offer you admission to their campus.

i was never offered admission to merced?

i should have qualified my statement by saying they’ll offer u admission if space is available.

see this link: [University of California - Admission requirements](http://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/admissions/freshman/requirements/index.html)

@syltutu no 4.3 GPA and tons of ECs IS good enough!! I don’t get the admissions office, seriously. But they can’t accept everyone because of limited space >.< Davis is missing out on some great students! Well SDSU is a good school! My older brother wants to transfer there.

And CC students are NOT slackers, of course there are certain individuals but they don’t represent the whole. A lot are there for reasons such as money, etc. I know some really intelligent classmates that are going to CC when they easily got into all the schools they applied to.

Good luck everyone! Thanks for all the moral support, all of us here really needed it these past few weeks.

Merced was offered but I didn’t want to go there because they don’t have my majors or anything of sort. I know many under-qualified people who got into UCs, so just because we didn’t get accepted, it doesn’t mean we’re not as good as they are. Just to remind you all, what undergrad school you go to doesn’t really matter.

syltutu, I’ve never met you before, but I feel like I can relate to your situation.

I have a friend that got denied off of Irvine’s waitlist, and is now going to SDSU. She was pretty devastated at first, primarily because she worked her butt off all of high school, got a stellar GPA, and pretty much thought she worked 100x harder than the other SDSU kids.

The thing is, these 4 years of hard work in high school did not go to waste. You’ve learned how to study and organize yourself and balance your life and take AP classes. You’re SET for college, no matter which college you go to. You have an advantage over the majority of the other students at your college. You know how to study. So when the first midterm rolls around and everyone is freaking out, you’ll be prepared because you took AP classes in high school and you’re familiar with the material. So I kinda see this as a blessing in disguise. Correct me if I’m wrong, I may know nothing about your situation. But I feel like you’ll have a huge advantage in college, no matter where you go, because of the work you did in high school.

I finally graduated yesterday and looks like summer is finally rolling around. Now I got to get a head start at my CC classes. Can’t wait for these two years to be over.

@syltutu you aren’t doing 2 year transfer anymore? Oh well I suppose we can meet in grad school someday and I bet we will be panicking in another 4 years lol.

Ahhh its such a bummer I didn’t get in, I really wanted to go here, but it looks like community college for me for now and hopefully I can even transfer to a much BETTER university than Davis, So long cow town lol! I kinda wished I applied to some where like SDSU though good business program

@pinkpixiedust93: Thank you for your encouragement. I take a fair amount of AP classes and when I take regular classes, it feels quite good when I get a good grade without working extremely hard. I don’t know if it’s going to be like that but it’s comforting to think of it in that manner.

@jojoyo: No, I’ve chosen SDSU because I want to be involved throughout the 4 years and it’s difficult to do that when I transfer and those 2 years in UC might be the most stressful part of undergrad which means I won’t get a chance of to be involved with community and school’s affairs.

Well, I will definitely be here for grad school. It kind of sucks because College Confidential is awesome but the SDSU forum is ridiculously dead.

Bitter much? That’s okay, though. I see what you’re trying to do there.

Good luck to everyone who’s transferring!

@JeSuis: well i mean might as well try and transfer to some where like Berkeley or LA if I can you know milk community college for what it is worth.
