waitlisted at top ny day school

If I’m waitlisted do I write a letter saying why I really want to go and have more reccomendations sent?

You definitely have to indicate whether you wish to remain on the wait list. Sorry to say that in my experience there is very little wait-list movement (except for K when the top schs, which do not nursery or pre-k prgms, are filling an entire class).

do you know anything about the masters school in ny?

franc180 – If you do a search of this board, you will find many discussions about waiting lists and the actions people have taken. You will also find some discussion of the Masters School. I think someone once called it “Dobbs” so you might want to search that name as well.

I will probably end up applying late if I don’t get in to the schools I already applied to. Masters is a really great school.

sounds great jonathon. good luck

You do need to indicate whether you wish to remain on the wait list. If you do not answer, your will be taken out of waiting list.

As per Master’s website, “The Masters School is a coed day and boarding school that engages 5th-12th grade students in a rigorous college preparatory curriculum. Located on a majestic 96-acre suburban campus, we are just 35 minutes from New York City.”

Hackley School has a five day boarding program for students in grades 9 through 12 if you live in NYC. Also look at Rye Country Day, it is another great school in Westchester County. Rye Country Day may not so far for you if you live in NYC.

Hope this help :)

I wish Hackley had a 7 day boarding program!
