<p>I applied to Columbia, NYU, UC Berkeley, Wash U and as backups Loyola U of Chicago, K College and WMU Musical Theater.
I was accpeted by all my backup (safety) schools and was rejected from all the other schools albiet Wash U where I was waitlisted. My resume isn’t as great as most people’s - I’m the stereotypical smart-kid who didn’t apply him or herself. However, I have a knack for writing and my essay is (in my opinion) very good (but very opnionated and in your face). My essay is under all my stats.</p>

They are having affairs. Yes, both of them, if you must know; my mother and my father. Ive juggled with the conjecture for over a year now; however, Ive only just arrived at the conclusion. Con-jecture and -clusion; the same prefix yet two starkly distinct definitions one: a loosely based assumption founded upon instinct, and the other: an affirmed belief beneath which rests bowels of supporting evidence. Regardless of the marvelous English Language and the diversity of interchangeable prefixes a love affair is a dangerous commodity to handle more or less, to tame. Obsession and attraction fatale follow closely behind the wake of a love affair. They are having affairs. Yes, both of them, if you must know; my mother and my father. My mother can squeeze the buffalo nickel so hard that the bison has severe bowel movement. My father, so lost and nostalgic, spends his spare time prying the -lamazoo out of Ka-lamazoo. The beauty of interchangeable prefixes allows him to turn Ka-lamazoo into Ka-RACHI! They are having affairs. Yes, ALL of them, if you must know; my mother and my father; the Leroys next door with their home baked American pie that they made for the new neighbors, the caucasian Browns, who have their perfectly criss-crossed lawn; and the Meyers across the street with their two golden retrievers and beds of red, white and blue petunias. Her name is Inertia. A love affair with Inertia a platitude in most cases of American society. This change fearing, anally retentive sociopolitical denomination (i.e. love affair with inertia) to which the overall masses of American society adheres, stagnates further modernization and reform of present day American morals, consequently preventing the existence of a wholly united and progressive society, and furthermore, inhibiting the existence of the very characteristics necessary and idealistic to maintaining a successful International leadership and domestic democracy.
At the concourse of a new millennium America is once again at the junction of major societal, economical, geopolitical and environmental plateaus. It is once again time for America to conclude her own love affair with inertia by challenging the standards and accepting the minorities. Majority rules is a catastrophic ultimatum to live by; after all, in 1861 majority ruled that blacks were possessions and majority ruled that a womans vote meant nothing. Could it be that Majority rules clashes with true justice? And of what importance and whose business is it that the couple three doors down consists of two husbands? If my marriage is indeed distracted or destroyed because of the declared love of two men three houses adjacent to mine, then my marriage was indeed destined for failure. Hammered down by the fear of change and societal advancement and integration, a debacle made in the name of our country claims the innocent American lives (overseas) of college bound women and men while elsewhere (in America) children of rape and prostitution are born into a world of substances and violence; pro-life. On the verge of a future with an impending oil shortage, the fatal attraction in Americas love affair with Inertia has led us into war. Perhaps the money spent on war would have saved more lives had it been spent on researching alternative fuel sources and fuel cells rather than fighting a quest that would maintain our current environmentally harmful means of fuel.
It is time to finally abandon Inertia to the responsibility of Mother Earth. Inertia has kept our planet in line for countless millenia yet she has domestically torn our country apart over the centuries. Inertia belongs in her respective realm of physical science. We must gravitate towards advancement. Without the physical balance between Inertia and Gravity, our planet would be physically lost. Without a social balance between Inertia and Gravity cohesion and progress our society will atrophy and America will truly be at great loss.
