<p>Your odds are bad because they put so many people on the waitlist…and may not go to it at all.</p>
<p>The waitlist is definitely not a polite rejection (in most cases). Last year they took 54 people off the waitlist; there’s no way to tell how many they’ll take off this year, but it’s definitely worth a shot.</p>
