Waitlisted for ED1

I’m an international student who does not require any form of FA whatsoever. I’ve been informed that my ED1 has been postponed for consideration with RD applicants. Anyone know what are my chances like? I’ve seen the stats that previously, 22% of 300 ED applicants were offered a place. Is this inclusive of those who were initially waitlisted?

On a side note, I’ve informed the admissions board that I would require a one year deferment i.e. I would only enroll in fall of 2016. Wonder if that affects anything?

Since Harvey Mudd is such a small school, it is difficult for them to predict enrollment from year to year. They had an issue a couple of years ago where more students enrolled than they were expecting, so they had to decrease the number of slots available the next year. For this reason, I think that the one year deferment would be an issue. Since they would have to slot you in with students who won’t apply for another year, unless you are a superstar, they will be wary.

The 22% would refer to those admitted under early decision, not those who were waitlisted.
