Hey everyone,
I found out yesterday that I was waitlisted at NYU. Honestly, I was kinda surprised, because by stats weren’t that amazing… Anyways, I am quite happy that I DID get waitlisted, and I was wondering if any of you guys who are waitlisted out there are planning on updating the AO with additional achievements and what not.

Also, I checked my common app the other day, and found out that I actually applied for Pre-professional Law as a major at CAS. However, on NYU’s CAS website, I did not find this major listed on the major page. Did anyone apply/get in/get waitlisted for this major?

I was wondering the same thing for Pre-Professional majors because I listed mine as Pre-Professional Dental. I made a thread the other day, but no one answered… Is it harder to get in as a “Pre-Professional _____” major?

I listed “Pre-Professional Dental” on my NYU supplement for “Anticipated Major Field of Study.”

Do students who list this as their major graduate with a degree titled as such? Because that would not look very good in a job market if that student happens to not be accepted to any dental schools.

Or is that title just information that lets NYU know what kind of path I want to pursue, and I will be able to declare a more suitable major like Biology or Biochemistry.

Does anyone know if NYU feeds its own dental school?

In addition, I applied to CAS, do majors come into consideration when accepting or denying students at NYU undergrad? For example, there are a certain number of slots for an intended major, and once that is up, there is a cut-off?

hmm I think there may be a certain number of slots for each major, but then again, that’s just me…
I did some research on Pre-_____ majors, and most of the schools don’t offer them as a major. It’s sort of a path that you follow before grad school. but I don’t know about NYU…
Tommylee, did you get accepted?
