Waitlisted with good scores

I applied to IU with finance as my major, and had 1470 sat, 4.0 gpa, some decent extra curriculars and I got waitlisted. Not even for Kelley, just for iub. I didn’t even realize this was possible, as some people I know got in with 3.0s and triple digit SATs.

Is there anything I can do in the meantime while I wait, and how are my chances?

The common data set suggests that a huge number - 80% - of waitlisted students are offered admission. Your chances are solid.

|WAITING LIST
|Number of qualified applicants offered a place on waiting list: 2,657
|Number accepting a place on the waiting list: 1,317
|Number of wait-listed students admitted: 1,143

With your scores I’d think you’d qualify for automatic direct admission. Did you apply by the deadline and indicate a business major?

I’m going to assume you didn’t apply by November 1st?

You might ask them about years past - as Kelley may not follow the path of other schools there - it likely depends on their yield.

My guess is many kids apply to Kelley as a safety so perhaps their yield will be low.

Just make sure you have other options - in case. Good luck.

My transcript submission got messed up, and it says I applied Nov 14 :frowning:

Unfortunately missed the deadline due to a transcript error
