Waitlisted

I have been waitlisted at WashU, CMC, Carleton.
What does this tell me? Am I competitive enough to get into the other schools I applied for?
Can you accept a waitlist for multiple schools?
Thanks

It tells you that you’ve been waitlisted at several very competitive schools.

It’s hard to say if you’re competitive enough for the other schools to which you applied without knowing where else you’ve applied.

Yes, you can accept a place on the waitlist at more than one school. It’s good to choose one to pursue, though, in terms of, say, writing a letter of interest.

Don’t expect anything from these schools; Wash U is notorious for its long waitlist. You can get more information on waitlist acceptance rates from the schools’ common data sets.

You may have been unlucky, or these colleges may have been the wrong fit for you. Focus on the future, and don’t waste your time worrying.
