For the merit based full cost of attendance scholarships, fafsa is irrelevant, and those selected come from the 50 finalists total who are invited to one of the two weekends which traditionally happen very soon. There are other need based scholarships that have a merit component as well, typically partial cost of attendance, and they come out at different times now to April. There are art-based merit partial scholarships that have auditions but that is announced after the interview weekends are done and the full CoA scholarship winners are picked, because some artists from the merit weekends who do not get a full ride are moved into contention for the presidential partial ones.
Separate from merit, Wake does meet need, so if the need is there based on fafsa or css(honestly I donât know what they use), financial aid is typically very good.
Hey!! I actually think merit scholarship results havenât come out. I called Wake Forest yesterday and askedâŠthey said they have not released decisions yet (they are awaiting news from their departments). They also said that they are planning on having scholarship weekends in February AND March. Unless someone can send a screen shot or evidence, I am almost certain they have not been released (as of 2/6/24).
But if someone else would like to call WF and verify what I have, that would be awesome!!
The 50 finalist invitations for the Signature Scholars are already out and those weekends are scheduled. I have heard directly from parents who kids got notified on different days and are set up for two different weekends. The Presidential Arts (partial-scholarship) weekends and invitations come out after the Signatures are decided (which was the beginning of March last year) and those weekends are commonly later in March. This is how it has worked the past couple of years at least.
There was someone on the class of 2024 thread who reported receiving an invitation to the scholarship weekend sometime last week. I donât think they are making it up.
ED2 decisions are out! Email arrived about 5:30 pm PT.
D24 just got accepted. This is her dream school.
California, 4.0UW/4.2W, ACT 33.
Congratulations!
Well, thank the LORD S24 got her acceptance last night! So very happy to have this whole process behind us. Go Deacs!!!
Good luck to everyone!
I got deferred in the early decision 1 round. What are the statistics like for deferals in ed to eventual acceptance? Do defered ed applicants have a shot in the regular round?
I donât know percentages, but I know of both a deferred student from ED1 that was admitted last year and another that was denied. Itâs definitely possible.
I searched for that type of information, but found nothing. My son was accepted at UNC so he has moved on
Does anyone know if there is an admit weekend this spring ?
April 10th and 14th. You wonât be able to register until after acceptance. Hereâs the link:
Registration | Accepted Students (Class of 2027) | Wake Forest University.
Thatâs last yearâs dates. This yearâs wonât be announced until regular decisions acceptances go out.
Oh sorry. Thanks.
and when will that be??
Regular decision notices are usually sent out the last week of March.
SOOO long from now!
Just looked and last year it was March 17th.
Here is the CC Wake Forest regular decision thread: Wake Forest Class of 2028 Official Thread - #2
I got deferred ed and have done everything they said to do. Senior grades were perfect, kept in contact with AO, got multiple additional rec letters, gave significant updates. What are the chances of getting in after deferral in the rd round?
Anyone have any idea when RD will be released?
