It’s always good to demonstrate interest. Interview if able. Submit a video if they can’t accomodate.
Ok I’ll have him do that . Seems like he may have missed deadline while we were all sick . So maybe he can reach out . Thank you
My D24 missed the video deadline because the email requesting the video went to her junk mail. After she had not received it, I called admissions to ask and they said it had been sent. She found it in her junk mail but it was due that day and she was not able to get it done in time.
Oh no , that’s like us
We can still see the video opportunity in the portal. Is it worth doing now?
My ds didn’t do it
Have they sent out invites for interviews for merit scholarships yet? Any notifications?
Yes
Now that I look they sent us an email saying invites would go out early Feb . But you received one already? What weekends are they scheduling for? Thx
It’s 2/15-17.
We are on pins and needles waiting for EDII for S24. She is 3.89 unweighted, weighted 4.85, 1460 submitted, Psychology major. Published research (she worked with the Psychology department head at Syracuse University and has two papers being presented at the Midwest Psych Conference in Chicago this March), Harvard Summer Studies in Psych, 9 AP’s, the rest all dual credit and honors classes, tons of peer tutoring, part time actual job, spends summers mentoring middle school girls at a three week camp, the AP Scholar with Honors, additional volunteer hours with Special Olympics and all the usual NHS and Science NHS accolades. Really great essays (we think) and she did not get offered an interview. She is also a dual athlete in high school, but I do not think that counts for much these days.
So far she has gotten in to all of her safety schools with a merit scholarships, but deferred from UChicago (we will take this as a win), deferred from Michigan and USC.
Wake is by far her first choice, and we are praying she has enough on her application to tilt the scales in her favor.
Sending everyone else good vibes! As a parent, it is so hard watching our kids struggle when we know how hard they have worked.
Also, a question regarding scholarships at Wake. She submitted her application on 11/1, but it was missing her EDII signed confirmation, which did not get submitted until 12/16 or so. Am I correct in assuming that we missed the cutoff for any merit scholarship since the application was missing that one item and was therefore not complete?
I would guess that she would have been considered as a RD decision submitted by that date would be considered. Remember only around 50 of 12,000 eligible were selected for the interview round for merit. Wake is not a big merit award school.
Thank you for the reply! EDII deadline was January 1st, so definitely made the EDII cutoff, but not the cutoff for any scholarship consideration, I am sure. I know that it would be highly unlikely, but you never know.
The ED2 form would not be necessary for merit consideration so when it was filed doesn’t matter (because one doesn’t have to submit an ED application to be considered). However, they have already notified students under consideration for merit awards this year, so moot anyway. Good luck with ED2, not much longer to wait!
Thank you! So now we wait. Good luck to everyone!
Are we sure they have already notified for scholarship weekend? After the FAFSA delay the info we received was that all scholarship recipients would be notified by April. It was previously March. So was wondering if that also meant scholarship weekend got pushed back
Yes it’s already been discussed in this thread, if you scroll up a bit. The weekend for merit scholarship interviews is 2/15 and invitations are out. I don’t know the timeline for financial aid.
Yes I saw it. I just don’t believe everything I read on these forums
I have zero clue how it all works but there are 2 scholarship weekends, supposedly back to back. That’s a lot to orchestrate and then time afterwards to make decisions, my presumption is they need to keep things moving along regardless as I’m sure one thing hinges on another alongside other job duties and getting admissions decisions out.
