My daughter checked her email this morning and saw the email about a portal update from last night.
She was admitted! Very excited here; she has just always really liked WF. NYC. 35 ACT (34M/35E/35S/36R), 3.9 UW GPA, full IB diploma (not sure how to do weighted GPA). Solid but not world-beating ECs.

My DD submitted Nov 15 too but regular decision so I’m assuming we have to wait and wait and wait.

My student submitted ED app on 11/15/23 and was deferred and then accepted in late March. I speculate that admissions does not have capacity to read all the applications submitted at the late date of 11/15, so please read nothing into a deferral. While it was a lot of work to submit all the other applications and seriously consider attending a different school, it also reconfirmed and solidified WFU as her first choice when the decision came in. If anyone hears of a non-athlete student submitting on 11/15 and getting accepted during the ED decision date, please post. Super curious.

So, sounds like December 15th last year. Any thoughts on whether today or Monday?! Do they let students know it’s coming like other schools?

Interesting thing: was on Wake admissions page looking to see if there was any announcement about ED1 decision releases and saw this note about an increase in first generation college students at Wake – and this is before they started the EA program for first generation college students last year: From 2019 to 2023, there has been a 45% increase of first-generation college students at Wake Forest, signaling our commitment to being a welcoming destination for FGEN applicants.
They aren’t sharing absolute numbers, but still…
(And, no, I didn’t see anything about when the remaining ED1 decisions will be announced.)

Did Wake final round ED decisions come out last Friday? I saw something on Reddit saying they did – but didn’t see any action here. Anyone who was waiting hear yet?
Ignore – confirmed on Wake’s website that all ED1 decisions were released last week.
My son applied to Wake ED2, and then we left for winter vacation a day later. With limited cell phone access and therefore email access while we’re away, he missed an invitation to record a video answering one of three questions about himself to supplement his application, which had to be submitted within 5 days of submitting his application. Is missing this opportunity majorly detrimental to his chances of getting in?
Neither of my kids did the interview or video (neither got an interview slot—my son missed the video invite in his email two years ago when he applied RD; my daughter just didn’t want to respond to the video prompts this year when she applied ED1). Both were admitted.

People on reddit’s wfu thread think it will be Friday. Historically, they always release after 7pm (for all releases not ED2 specifically). Good luck!
