I have been accepted to these three schools along with some others. I am now trying to decide which college to go. They are all ok schools. However, I heard from others that Wake’s reputation is not so great. New York has way too many distractions. UCSD as a school is fairly new. I intend to major in applied math.

I am international so that the costs are basically the same.
Which college should I go? Or are there any other schools I should consider.

Here are all the colleges that accepted me:
Wake Forest
UC San Diego
NYU
UC Santa Barbra
University of Washington (Seattle)
University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
Georgia Tech
Penn State

I am still waiting for Vanderbilt.

If you get into Vanderbilt the academics are outstanding. I would by-far recommend going there (academics are way better, in my opinion). NYU has a lot of distractions but it would be very good for internships. Georgia tech and Penn state are pretty good for math from what I hear. Wake does not have as many math majors so, the math department is very small. Although the class size would be smaller at Wake, a math major would have more resources at larger institutions like most of the other schools you have listed. I would recommend looking at online tours of the colleges and specifically find out info about things like study rooms, library resources, and availability/quality of professors. Good Luck!

UCSD, NYU, Washington would be the order I would choose in if cost is not an issue. Wake would probably be ranked 2nd or 3rd but I personally wouldn’t want to live in the south. If you are used to that lifestyle than Wake would be a great choice as well. If Vanderbilt comes through, than it’s a no brainer - go to Vandy. If cost is an issue than that would change things significantly.
