Hi. My daughter is a transfer student accepted to both schools. She is pre-med biochemistry major. She is coming from a small college with limited access to science classes so mostly focused on getting her pre med requirements in. It seems like these two schools are similar on the academic side but a different social scene She visited both and liked both. If anyone has any thoughts they would be appreciated. Thanks.
In our HS, William & Mary usually appeals more to the academicky/quirky kids, Wake Forest to the preppy/pre-professional kids. Unless there is some other compelling difference (such as cost), I would consider choosing on that basis.
I agree with this. Both beautiful campuses with great reputations. You won’t go wrong with either so make a decision based on best fit.
My oldest D just graduated from Wake; pre-med with a major in Health and Exercise Science and biology minor. In the process of preparing to apply to med school. She had an amazing experience.
Both colleges will be perfectly fine. Remember that you can get the same job from many colleges so don’t feel like one or the other will provide more opportunities.
I can’t speak to Wake Forest, but William & Mary is known for being very welcoming and supportive for transfer students. Congrats on two great options!
Thank you for the comments. She is going with Wake. She likes the pre med program.
