That’s not such a phenomenon. SAT Range is 1260-1410. It was a bit of a reach, but you were still in the interquartile range. Your grades were good, and I’m sure you took challenging classes. Your ECs must have been decent, and perhaps you were a minority.

Actually, it was a bit of a reach considering their average SAT was a 1380 last year. Still, it’s not like SATs are everything. A friend of mine got into JHU with a 1270.

Congrats, Doogie! Do you plan to attend?

I said it was a reach, but it was nothing phenomenal that this person was accepted.

Congratulations- can I ask for your stats, location, hook, etc.?
I was rejected 1390/2040 with a 4.0 GPA and no waitlist. And my ECs were amazing…

it is pretty phenomenal when u have sum of the obnoxious a**es on this site basically telling u not to apply

it is pretty phenomenal when u have sum of the obnoxious a**es on this site basically telling u not to apply…like yourself it seems heavenwood

Excuse me? I’m reporting that…

I never said not to apply. I just said it isn’t a phenomenon. You didn’t beat the system. The odds were just a little bit against you.

I didn’t know you had to listen to everyone’s opinions.

you are absolutely correct…i didnt

just proves the fact that you cant take many of these people seriously alot of the time…they know next to nothing when it comes to chances…most of them anyway

If they know ‘next to nothing,’ then you shouldn’t be telling them to go take a hike, or taking it so personally. What did you expect people to tell you with a 1280 and 3.8, that you’d get in easily? Based on the stats, it was a reach. People get into reaches.

Hopefully you mean a 1280 old SAT. Getting in with a 1280 on the new would be really impressive.

I’m sure he meant 1280 old…
