What is so special about NYC bulge brackets? i realize that they make the big bucks or whatever but what about large banks at other cities? I am from NC and am interested banking. I want to know what the advantages of working at NYC is compared to Charlotte. I don’t really don’t want to be too far from home and i heard that the cost of living is high there. How do their salary, lifestyle, and the opportunities compare?
The advantage must be that the ceiling in pay is a lot higher.
However, since the industry is very up or out with almost 100% of your peers being incredibly ambitious, it’s hard to predict whether someone will actually reap the fruits of their labor in NYC.
