Want to be a good poly-sci or government candidate for a top school?

Wow me too!! Which is why I made this thread! I’m currently a Junior, and I feel I want to be a political science or government major at a liberal arts college. My reasoning behind this is I enjoy politics; I follow news and elections closely and read magazines such as The Nation and The Progressive in my free time. I volunteered for Kerry/Edwards, and I enjoy engaging in political discussions. My favorite and probably best subject is history, and in my AP US History class I’m known for scoring among the highest on the tests without relatively much studying.

Last year I was an active member of the Junior Statesmen of America (JSA) political/debate club, but this year I have been unable to join because of drama. I was also planning on making a Kerry-Edwards/Democrats club at school this fall and join clubs such as Amnesty International but I have been unable to do that either because of drama. I am part of a very active drama program at my school that is…yeah i know it sounds silly…internationally recognized. We went to the International Fringe Festival in Scotland last summer and did very well, which is a big deal for High School theater. This year I will have been a lead role at least 2x out of the 3 shows the director does (1 more show in the spring). I pretty much spend 2-3 hours in drama everyday after school, which allows little time for other activities such as clubs.

So, what do you all think I should do to make myself a good political science candidate? My basic stats are:

-white male
-3.78 uw gpa, top 15% out of a class of 450 or so…they dont weight gpa’s
-usually take 2-3 honors/AP classes a year…1 AP this year, planning on 3-4 Sr year
-PSAT 67v, 62m, 72w for a 201 index
-no SATs yet, but I am taking a Kaplan Class and I took a 10 Real SATs math portion yesterday and scored 680 on math… so I am improving hopefully.

umm Claremont MckEnna College is part of a consortium of colleges and SPECIALIZES in ECON, Gov, business/polisci…small libveral arts school…but borders Pomona, Harvye mUDdd, Scripps, Pitzer(all together kinda)…

It’s in so cal…and the school seems pretty dom…have to be a strong candaitatew thoguh…they accept like 25% this year for ED…median SAT=1400…but its more a bout the fit…check it out

good luck buddy~!#!#!$@$@#$
