Want to become a doctor what do you guys think?

<p>First off i would like to say hey first time on forums.</p>

<p>OK, so i am 17 years old junior in high school. I get OK grades i accelerate in stuff i like such as biology chemistry all sciences really. I am OK at math but not great at it. I really want to go to school to become a doctor. I really just want to help people feel better and have a proud job. I think i would study family medicine or oncology. I live in the state of Wyoming so i think i would go to the University of Wyoming witch is cheaper and best route for me so i can go to Washington medical school that Wyoming works through.</p>

<p>My question is do you guys think all this is a smart decision.</p>

<p>Also is a junior college a good place to start for some pre req’s? There is one right in my town.</p>

<p>This is not a compelling reason to become a doctor. There are plenty of jobs that help people feel better and are well-respected - opticians, podiatrists, nurses, therapists, EMTs, and physician assistants, and that’s just in the field of health care.</p>

<p>You should probably work on your communication skills as well, because they are a bit lacking. Read as much as you can, in areas that interest you - in your case, probably scientific journals and nonfiction.</p>
