"Want to Get Good at Videogames? Hire a Kid"

I was perusing the Wall Street Journal today and came across an article investigating Tom Taylor, a high school dropout who is making a living instructing individuals about the intricacies of “gaming.” His website, gaming-lessons.com, charges anywhere from $20-$65/hr. depending on the skill level of its dozen or so instructors.

Why would someone pay money for this kind of thing? Is this a passing fad that will blow over in a couple years or is this something that will actually become a profitable business? Already this guy is making nearly $3,000/week. Incredible.

The gaming instruction industry is probably enjoying an early bubble due to the low number of competitor firms. But the reality is that supply for gaming instructors is potentially very high, and once that’s realized, it’ll become a less-profitable industry.

You’ll lose…but I don’t have a PoS2…so sorry… :p

Haha, I was readingin this one thing in the newspaper where people would pay other people to actually play the games for them.

It’s ridiculous

It’s like people who sell role-playing game accounts on ebay.
