Want to get into a BS/MD program - How rigorous is it?

I don’t care about the name of the college as long as I get into any program. I would just like to know the standards as many people I’ve talked to didn’t really know, not even my counselor.
For example. I’ve met a girl who got into Yale, but the only BS/MD she was accepted to was in Stony Brook.
What’s the average GPA/SAT that you need in order to be competitive for a BS/MD?

You should probably start with your medically relevant activities first. If you are a senior and you don’t have any, you can forget applying.

Programs vary in selectivity. Apply widely. D. was accepted to 3 out of 6 that she applied, but it was ages ago. The rigorous part depends on being accelerated or not. D. choose non-accelerated bs/md and was in the same situation as “regular route” pre-meds. She had normal UG experience with 2 minors, sorority, did all medcial ECs.
If you are at the level to be accepted to Ivy colleges and if you have good amount of medical ECs (volunteering, shadowing physicians, interning or working in the Med. Research l;ab), than you are a good candidate for bs/md. Still do not expect to be accepted at every one. The number of spots is very limited. D. was in bs/md that had only 10 spots at her UG (and 40 more at other 4 colleges in the program).
Do not be discouraged if you do not get in. Eventualy, D. applied out of her program and attended Medical school that was part of another bs/md that originally rejected her.
So, getting to Med. School the regualar route is easier than getting to the same Med. School via bs/md.

Being in the program though provides great peace of mind. Looking back, D. would choose the bs/md route again.

Generally you need an SAT with CR + M=1500
