I would like to transfer to Brown University, How many community service hours do I need and what should my GPA be to transfer to Brown University for my junior year be? I have 200 community service hours already, had more in high school but high school records do not count only college does when you are transferring as a junior. How can I be a good transfer applicant for Brown University. Please respond.

There is no set GPA or number of community service hours to get into Brown (or any other school). Transfer admissions depend on a lot of factors:
–what school you’re coming from (you’ll have a better shot if it’s a relatively competative or difficult school)
–your grades at that school (I think they’d like to see mostly As and Bs)
–what classes you’ve taken – whether they were challenging, if you’ve taken a lot of different kinds of classes or just within your major, etc
–extracurriculars and community service – whether you’ve shown leadership, passion, etc.
–your high school record (I think they still ask for it but it’s not as important)
–your essays

If you want to get into Brown, work hard wherever you are and make sure that your passions and unique qualities come through in your application. Good luck!

I… wasn’t aware that one could get “community service hours” in college.
