Want to Pursue Biotech VC/PE in Asia..Weird Story Please Help

Hi,

So here’s where I am right now. I started off in college as a pre-med and I did OK in it, but I soon realized that I was more interested in business as opposed to becoming a doctor. Therefore, logically (or so it seemed at that time), I switched to a major in finance and I all m happy with it and have gotten decent grades. After a while though, I’ve realized that what my actual dream job would be is VC. Given that I am from what we call in finance a “non-target” school, I will need to have some technical skills in addition to a business background in order to really have a shot at breaking in and reaching my goals.

Given this, I have now considered going to med school and then doing an MBA afterward before attempting to break in. Additionally, I want to move to Asia since that is where all the action seems to be happening or will be happening for the next few decades (I’m particularly interested in India, perhaps since I’m an NRI). However, I’m wondering if any of this is feasible given my lack of background in the sciences among other issues. Monetary expense will not be too much of an issue, and I’ve heard that some NRIs can buy their way into medical school, so I’m wondering if doing that, and then pursuing an MBA after that would be a good way to go, or just generally how I can go about doing this.

Although, if need be, I can go back and change my major again, I really want to avoid this given the opportunity cost that doing something like this will require in terms of even more years wasted among other things. I also want to avoid US medical schools because although I did OK in my previous classes, I’m not sure if my science GPA is competitive enough for US med schools nowadays, and US med schools will be atrociously expensive, which may really kill me if I combine it with an MBA.

A couple of other side notes: I know VC/PE are competitive and I have absolutely no qualms about working as a doctor for a while and moving into management. Furthermore, if this is the wrong forum, I apologize, but I just put it here due to the traffic this site gets in particular.

Thanks and any and all advice would be greatly appreciated
