<p>I currently attend Stony Brook University in New York. I was wondering if anyone could tell me some first-hand information on how easy/hard it is to transfer to USC or UCLA from my college. I want to major in film, while I am currently pursuing a pre-med track, and doing pretty decent so far. GPA is a 3.18. Had an 87.5/100 gpa in High School. Not only do I not know what to do in order to transfer, what do you think my chances are?</p>
<p>I think it will be hard to transfer with your college gpa from a school like stony brook…No offense but stony brook doesn’t have a great reputation, so since you have a 3.18 there, it looks bad…</p>
<p>Doesn’t have a great reputation in terms of what? And says who? I had been under the impression that Stony Brook is one of the most valued public colleges in the nation. Though I could be wrong. Sources would be great.</p>

<p>I was a freshman at Stony Brook this past year (2010-2011), and I sent in a transfer application to USC’s School of Cinematic Arts in February. I found out last month that I got in-- I didn’t take a film class in either college or high school and my college GPA was around a 3.8. Prior to my acceptance, I was planning on majoring in Art History/English. I know this is kind of a late answer, but it CAN be done. <p>You need to have at least 3.7 uw GPA.</p>
