<p>We were planning to visit my son at Loyola and planned on driving down there tomorrow. Is there anyone here who lives in Baltimore that can tell us if we’d even be able to get to him? We are hearing side roads have not been touched since last week’s storm. Thanks for any info you can give us!</p>

We are coming from CT.</p>
<p>It is a mess down here. We are about 30 miles north of Baltimore. My neighbor works at Hopkins and she is working from home today. Check the WBAL site. You might also call the place you plan to stay directly. Those front desk people will give you good info.</p>
<p>Frederick County, MD here. Some major highways are closed. Drifting snow and abandoned vehicles. Route 15 around Thurmont. Route 15/340 near Frederick City.</p>
<p>She’ll be coming down I-95, which appears to be clear.</p>
<p>S lives on a side street in Baltimore. It wasn’t plowed after the first storm and still hasn’t been touched. His office has been closed, with everyone working from home. He tells me the main roads are passable, but with plowed snow mounded up on the sides of the roads, I imagine it will be very difficult to park on the street, and some parking lots may be low on the priority list for plowing. D is at school in DC, which got a bit less snow than Baltimore–the campus is closed and far from being cleared of snow. If your son’s school is open, you might want to call the college and get some inside info on the situation from an employee who knows the immediate area and actually made it into work.</p>

<p>I don’t live far from Loyola, but I live in the County and it is like night and day compared to the City. Everyone I know is getting out an about, even with 40 inches of snow on the ground. The school has probably plowed more than the city. I don’t think you would have a problem as long as there is someplace plowed for you to park. Your S should be able to scout out whether there is any parking. </p>
<p>If you take 95 to 695 and take the Charles Street exit and head south on Charles Street to Loyola, I don’t think you would have any problems. I think the businesses on Cold Spring are probably going to be open too.</p>
