Wanting to Transfer - high school grades?

Hey guys,

I am a first-year student at Wayne State University here in Detroit, majoring in International Studies and minoring in Russian Language. I’m 19 and I just completed a year here, but I have 64 credits because I was dual-enrolled in High School at Eastern Michigan University. I am looking to transfer to a higher-ranked university known for International Relations, but I am worried about my grades - I have a 3.9 at Wayne State, but my EMU gpa is a 3.4. It sort of slacked off in high school and that’s one of the reasons I ended up at this school rather than my dream schools. I am worried about my EMU grades - because they are full college credits I am required to submit the EMU transcript as well, bringing my combined GPA down to a 3.67. Would this cause the universities I am applying to (George Washington, American, and U of Michigan) to overlook my application? I am new to this so any advice would be helpful. Thanks!
