Thank you for sharing this. Even though my birthday is in January, I have still done Dry Januarys for the last two or three years. But, this year is a milestone birthday, and we have friends coming in from out of state to celebrate. Our run group had to push its Christmas party into January as well. So, I think I will adopt the, “Special Occasion,” Damp January protocol.

Has anyone ever regretted stopping drinking altogether? Just give it up. Forever.

I saw this and I am doing it. I plan to restrict alcohol to when we go out to dinner with friends (once/month) and possibly 1 glass of wine per weekend. That’s all.

I tried “Dry January” in 2021. I was successful until the end of the month when I retired. That might have been poor planning.

I’m going to do this. So is DH. We drink on the weekends, and I typically have 2 drinks each night. Sometimes a drink on Sunday but not always. I’m going to just do one glass of wine when we go out. If we stay home, to keep the fun going, make my fav bourbon and 7-up but with just 1/3 a shot. Could have 2 of them and it’s still drinking less than one full one.
