Warby Parker eye glasses

This past summer PMKjr’s much loved Ray Bans went missing. They were fairly new and I was not looking forward to replacing them. So, I started looking around and I found this website,
[Designer Frames & Online Eyeglasses - $95 Rx Glasses | Warby Parker](http://www.warbyparker.com/) The glasses are all $95 and that includes the prescription lens!

They were very easy to work with and my son has had the glasses for four months now with no complaints. Additionally, they give a pair away to someone who needs glasses for every pair purchased, much like Tom’s shoes.

It’s unusual to find a low cost alternative that works, at least it is for me, so I wanted to share.

My brother turned me on to this over the holiday week. They originally sent him the wrong glasses. To make up for the mistake they gave him a second pair for free. And the glasses are fantastic!

That’s great to hear!

A long time ago I worked in sales and I was terrible at it but I swear I could sell these glasses. I just cannot stop telling people about them! My son’s pair was a third of the cost of the ones he lost and he loves them. My next pair will come from Warby Parker as well, that is for sure.

My daughter just ordered from this compnay today. Initially she ask them to send her 5 pair to try on. From those 5 pair she made her decision and she is now waiting for the glasses to arrive. When she had told me about this site, I really did not believe it was going to work out. But they have been responsive to her questions and everything has worked smooth so far. Now we wait for the actual glasses. She does not have a complicated prescription.

I wear progressive lenses now, how do you think that would work out with this company?

I heard about Warby Parker from my alumni newsletter. I wish them well, but I think their business model is already out there, only cheaper. When it comes to mail order via internet prescription eyeglasses, I got a really nice pair from zennioptical dotcom. Would you believe I paid $6.95? I know, I can’t believe it either. The downside of this website is that even with a few bells and whistles and fancier frame you might pay $25 - $30 for a pair of glasses, so you end up ordering 12 or 20 pairs.

Thanks for the link! I checked out their website and going to give them a try. I need new glasses and this prompted me to book an eye exam.

I actually love the look of these for myself. But do you think they would look silly on an 48 year old woman? I’m sufficiently “unhip” enough that I might possibly just look like I have outdated glasses on, rather than trendy ones :)

Hokiefan, I read their website and they do not do progressives.

^ starbright - Have you tried on a pair? I also like the style, but have noticed that it is flattering to some people, not so much on others. If the style looks good on you, I say go for it.

^ Thanks. My problem is I’m in Canada so I can’t try their program that sends you 5 glasses to try out (with free shipping back in the box provided). I did try their virtual try on (took my pix with my iphone and uploaded it). But it isn’t quite the same of course. I generally don’t look great in glasses and never really have found a pair that made me look good.

Does this brand exist in stores? Maybe I could try them in person that way. Or maybe I should try similar kinds of style first in a brick and mortar shop.

Starbright- Thanks for the info. I had quickly looked at the sight with my daughter but didn’t read all the q & a as she was doing the ordering. I went back after I posted and checked it out and saw I would not be a candidate for these glasses. My eyes are really bad and progressives are the only way for me to go. Good luck to you all. My dauhgters should be here early next week.
