Warning - iphone 3 (3S) do not upgrade to OS 5

D1 upgraded to OS 5 2 nights ago and the phone just stopped working. ATT tried new sim card. D1 tried to re-install lower version of OS. Nothing worked. Long story short, we got it sorted out, D1 got her phone replaced by a new one, but it took 2 days of her life (one hour of mine).

D2 upgraded her iphone 4 to the latest version with no issue.

I upgraded my iPhone 3GS to IOS 5 and it went okay, though not flawlessly. I had to disable iCloud because it slowed everything down to a crawl. But I didn’t mind that since I wouldn’t use the features of iCloud that much. I do like the other features such as the improved camera, Notification Center, Reminders and Newsstand.

I upgraded to iOS 5 on my iPad. Not because I wanted to but because I was forced to when I tried to buy Pages. It now requires iOS5. I think a lot of apps are starting to require it.

It took forever and it was a little confusing. Because of iCloud they now require you to use an email address as your user name for itunes and you have to go in a make all these changes to your account name. It took some research on the internet to figure it out. It was a little frustrating. Hubby has an iPhone 4 - no way am I going to suggest he upgrade. He can barely make a phone call on the thing. An upgrade would freak him out.

I do like the way Safari works in iOS5. Much easier to navigate between pages.
