<p>Ok music majors. I watched Immortal Beloved last night. I went to check on the historical accuracy of the film today, and, from what little I read, the film is pretty much bogus. Schindler didn’t identify the woman that is indicated in the film. Some websites are relatively convincing that Beethoven was gay and had an intense relationship with nephew Karl. What do y’all think? Has anyone studied this? Was the linkage between th 9th Symphony and Beethoven’s childhood accurate? What about the mysterious lady at the hotel? Any accuracy? Also, why do Germans claim him when he was also of Flemish ancestry? Please share your thoughts.</p>
